That was an unexpected bonus. I wasn't expecting that when the schedule was announced, but now the serious stuff starts. At least we're not to bad for injuries.

Even less sure about McGuire after last weeks game. Not that I think we'd have won with him - we haven't often before. Can't see us getting anywhere against La Mesa, particularly with Leuluai being injured. Promising start to the pass game with no intercepts and no sacks. They're really going to have to pick up the slack.

A new season and the end of an era with McGuire moving on. I'm still not sure that was a wise move, but it's no use worrying about that now.I guess we'll start with the now traditional loss to Stratford, and I can't see beyond them for the division again. We'll have to try and win enough games to make a wild card, for which we'll be relying on defense.

For the 2nd time this season, we benefit from other team's injuries in a big game. La Mesa lost their running game for the wildcard game. This also meant that Detritus' injury wasn't as crucial. McGuire had another big game, and the passing game hit it's stride to give us a match up with Salem. Hopefully we can get a bit closer than last time.

The team held their nerve to win the game and with it a first divisional championship. Not overly convincing finishing 6-4 though, with only one win outside the division.Another meeting with La Mesa, hopefully we can get revenge for week 1, especially with their weakened running game. However, the loss of Detritus as LE is a big blow for the team.

Heavy loss against the Witchcraft, which was to be expected. No major injuries going into the final week.In touching distance of the divisional championship, just need to make sure we don't slip up against Chasm City. They'll be hurting after the loss to Thames Valley. A win and we're there, with our first winning record.

Finally a win against the Steelers (admittedly a weakened one). I think it's the first time McGuire has got reasonable yardage against them, and we kept them without touchdown - a great effort by the defense. A three way tie for the division. I'd feel happier if we didn't have to play the Witchcraft - but it's all to play for.

Probably the biggest game in franchise history this week. A win keeps put us level with the Steelers, a defeat puts us 2 games behind and out of the playoff race. Still not beaten them in 7 attempts - maybe this time?

Excellent win over the Circle marred by another big injury, this time to Donald at CB. Smith will have to be rushed back to take his place, although he is not fully fit. A franchise record number of TDs and no ints, for Tansey shows he's settled down after the sack-fest of week one. Next week's the big test though, against Stratford, who we've never beaten. We'll see!

Much better, a strong divisonal win. No sacks this week, OL work has paid off. Tansey had more time and threw well, more than any other Firebirds QB performance. A couple of minor injuries, nothing to write home about - or give an excuse for the big game this week at Chasm City. This has turned into a huge game with Stratford having a dodgy start. Our record against them is good, but they've probably not been this strong before. But neither have we.

As last time we played La Mesa we lost 59-14 this was a big improvement. I didn't expect anything better and matching them to HT was a decent start. What happened to the OL I don't know. Those guys have been working hard in training this week and will hopefully give a better account this week. Big injury to Smith on his first start at CB is a blow, though we have decent cover. Injury to Luggage may have more effect. We need to win this week to kick start the season and give everyone confidence, especially Tansey, who suffered last week.
