10/06/2010 - Wessex Stadium - The of the regular season is fast approaching and playoff hopes hang on the match against the Warriors. 'We need to win this to stay in the playoff race and to prove we can mix it up with the best of them' coach Gaskell was quoted as saying. Results from other matches will a long way to sealing the Sun Devils post season prospects. [10/9]
25/05/2010 - Wessex Stadium - After a tough loss to the Islanders in Week 5, the Sun Devils came out strong against the Scorpions in week 6. The team are looking forward to the arrival of the 2 times Bowl Champions Havana Blues. Coach Gaskell is more cautious "This match will be very tough on the D line, especially with Ludendorff carrying an injury. We will make the Blues work hard for every yard they get. I am confident we can stop the passing of Cooper". [10/7]
07/05/2010 - The last of 3 road games has almost arrived. The Sun Devils coaches have been busy preparing for the match against divisional rivals Maridunum. Coach Gaskell is expecting a victory that will see the Sun Devils move to 2nd in the Division and is prime position to make a play for the division lead in week 5. [10/4]
23/04/2010 - Wessex Stadium - Coach Gaskell and the Sun Devils have spent the extra week fine tuning the Defence. 'We plan to show the rest of the league how to shut down Himmelsbach' stated Coach Gaskell at a recent press conference. [10/2]
07/04/2010 - Wessex Stadium - The Sun Devils have been training hard this week for the season opener against the Heroes. After a good pre-season outing againts the Razorbacks, the team is in a positive mood. RB Breckinridge was quoted as saying 'Our new offensive scheme will confuse the Heroes D enough to make a difference.' Sun Devils HC Gaskell refused to be drawn on the question of who will start at QB. [10/1]
30/03/2010 - The pre-season warmup has finally arrived. The Sun Devils have been training hard to put some new wrinkles in the offense and building on the tough defense from last season. Coach Gaskell said 'The match adaginst the Razorbacks will iron out where this team is going in season 10, back to the playoffs and then some!' [10/0]
19/01/2010 - Wessex Stadium - With the Season X schedule announced, Coach Gaskell was pleased to see the non division CFC opponents to be as predicted. However, playing Havana from the MFC was a surprise. It was hoped that it would be Rotterdam. Not to be disheartened, Coach Gaskell has predicted a 7-3 season based on current standings. This will no doubt be reviewed once the draft is complete. [10/0]
18/12/2009 - Wessex Stadium - The win against the Magpies was nothing short of spectacular. Coach Gaskell is looking for more of the same when the team travels to face the Barbarians. 'This is a totally team to any of those we have played this season and it will require 120% from everyone on the team - players and coaches alike'. A win next week could see the Sun Devils go all the way. [9/12]
14/12/2009 - The demolition of the Kings in the final week of the season has put the whole team in good spirits for the third match against the Magpies. Coach Gaskell has said 'The wildcard match against Maridunum will show how this team has progressed. Defeat is not an option!' [9/11]
08/12/2009 - With Ludendorff back on form against the Scorpions, The Sun Devils D is looking forward to post another 10+ sack game this week away to the Kings. Coach Gaskell said 'There will be no let up this week, another 110% performance is required by the team to ensure a Division win'. [9/10]
30/11/2009 - Wessex Stadium - After a tough day for the defensive front 4 against the Stallions it was good to see the Special teams making an impact. DE Ludendorf refused a press interview after the match, apparently sulking for not getting a sack this week. With 2 matches of the regular season left Coach Gaskell is only now starting to think ahead to the post season - 'I think it quite likely we'll be playing one of our divisional rivals in the first weekend of post season. Lets make sure we win and win well!' [9/9]
24/11/2009 - Wessex Stadium - After a devastating loss to the Magpies for the second time this season, the Sun Devils have to focus on the Stallions. 'We must protect the ball better if we are to make it to the playoffs' Coach Gaskell was reported to have said. Extra ball protection training has been planned into this weeks schedule. [9/8]
17/11/2009 - Wessex Stadium - With 2 wins out of 2 over divisional opponents, the Sun Devils are looking to make it 3 for 3 this weekend at home to the Magpies. The team is looking to avenge the narrow defeat from week 1 with another stirling performance from the D line. Def Co-ordinator Carrol is reported to have said 'Magpies QB Hall will be seeing dirt and stars all day'. [9/7]
09/11/2009 - After another good defensive performance against the Islanders, the team is confident going into this weeks match against the Scorpions. DT Pershing was quoted as saying 'people are saying we aren't good enough to beat the Scorps by 16 points. I say we'll rip through their O Line and bury Potter in the dirt. Expect a high number of sacks agin this week'. Coach Gaskell praised QB Montgomery for the way he managed the offensive against the Islanders. There will be more of the same this week. [9/6]
02/11/2009 - Wessex Stadium - The team has been training hard in preperation for the Trip to Brighton this weekend. Coach Gaskell is pleased with the defensive performance against the Rapiers last week and expects more of the same against the Islanders. Sources inside the locker room have said that a new scheme has been worked out to reduce the impact of Islanders Receiver Himmelsbach. [9/5]
28/10/2009 - Wessex Stadium - After 2 weeks of coaching the team from aremote location Coach Gaskell returned to hands on coaching. The win against divisional rivals Islanders was a welcome boost to the team morale and they look to carry this forward on the away trip to Rochester. "Expect another mauling of an opposition QB this week" was the quote from DE Ludendorf. Coach Gaskell was reported as saying 'this match is a fine tune exercise for the re-match against the Islanders in Week 5'. [9/4]
11/10/2009 - Wessex Stadium - The new coaches have arrived. It is good to see Running Back Coach Phil Booker re-sign for another 3 year contract to instill discipline in the back field. The new Special Teams co-ordinator will spice up the both sides of the Kicking game and a move around of the defensive side has seen a new Defensive co-ordinator take over. [9/2]
11/10/2009 - After a dissappointing loss to the Magpies, the team heads back to Chickerell to take on the Stampede. Coach Gaskell stated 'The Offence sucks, too many crucial fumbles. At least the D kept us in the game. Changes in the coaching staff will be necessary if this team is to post a decent record this season.' [9/2]
04/10/2009 - Here at the Wessex Stadium the Sun Devils have revealed their new logo. A spokesperson for the team said "The helmet logo better reflects the ferocity and determination of the D Line to punish Quarterbacks for attemtping the pass the ball". This is clearly referring to the mauling dished out by the D Line against the Spitfires in the pre-season match (8 sacks). [9/1]
30/09/2009 - The Sun Devils revealed their new uniform today after the morning training session. Asked why the change, Coach Gaskell said "The colour scheme of the last two seasons needed an update, so we took inspiration from our first seasons colours". Several players have also commented on the helmet logo - 'the funny looking devil needs demonising'. When pressed on this Coach Gaskell refused to comment. [9/0]
29/09/2009 - The wait is almost over for the Sun Devils as Coach Gaskell prepares the team for the pre-season showdown against the Spitfires. Coach Gaskell was quoted as saying 'It may only be seen as an exhibition match to some teams, but we're treating this match as if it were a real match that counts as part of the season. Sure some rookies will get playing time, but this match will see most of the regular starters on the field for the majority of the time and show that the Sun Devils mean business this season'. [9/0]
