The Sharks season ends with heads held high after the wildcard defeat at Halesowen. We matched them for 3 quarters but just came up short, and after back-to-back 0-10 seasons, that'll do for now. More at http://leewardislandssharks.webs.com/

Playoffs, baby! Couldn't have been anticipated at the start of the season, but the Sharks are delighted to secure a wild card spot. Going to Halesowen is a big ask, but as Sharks fan David Bowie says, "we can beat Heroes, just for one day". More at More at http://leewardislandssharks.webs.com/

So the Sharks drop another heart-breaker to the really really lucky Avalanche (what?? that's objective!) Sheffield next, a must-win if we're to have any chance of a surprise play off appearance. Shame Campbell is fully fit and they're coming off a shutout of the Barbarians! More at http://leewardislandssharks.webs.com/

Having taken a tough loss against the Mariners, with QB Zeleny setting a franchise record for passing yards and then refusing to throw anymore in case he got sacked with the game on the line, it's back home for the massive re-match with the Avalanche. HB Johnson's return should make it more of a match than week 6, but will it be enough to keep the Sharks in the playoff hunt? More at http://leewardislandssharks.webs.com/

After being brought back to reality by the Avalanche, there's no time for introspection as the Sharks take on Long Beach. After Swift, and Xin, Walsh, Kearney and Prall, the next league star heading our way is the GFLA all time passing leader Barros, in his back yard. Another massive test, and we'll need the offense to show up this week if it's not to be another heavy defeat. More at http://leewardislandssharks.webs.com/

"There are no easy games in the CFC West" announced Coach Mitton, possibly the first time that phrase had ever been said out loud. The Sharks dodged a bullet against Forth Worth, letting slip a 31-7 lead before falling over the line with a much-flattering 14 point win. While some players have punctuated practice by shouting "look out, it's Kearney!" and collapsing in laughter at the rabbit-in-the-headlights expressions of the DL and LBs, others have been staring mournfully at the G-sized gap on the left side of the O-line. It's whispered that QB Zeleny has had surgery to point his head permanently over his shoulder at a now very exposed blind side. All this ahead of a match up with a fired up Amazon team, out for revenge, on the back of some heartbreaking losses, and whose luck must surely be due a change. Never a dull moment.
