SALOPIAN SPORT - 'The coming of the Cyclones delayed again'. The Sonics Head Coach raised an eyebrow today at the news that the forever promised challenge of the Cyclones in the MFC East has been delayed for at least another two seasons. The Coach was heard to comment that he admired the fact that coach Speakman had a plan, but when asked to comment on what he thought this plan may be just looked blankly at the young reporter and shrugged his shoulders. Coach Hose was looking forward to the more competitive MFC East this season, but now we'll just have to wait a wee while.

With the move of house of the Sonics head coach, the team have changed their uniform (very slightly), and the local Salopian brewery have brought out a beer in celebration of DT Darwin (even though he didn't make it to the pro-bowl). They even managed to get a picture of the of the young defensive tackle on the bottle, (although having to face Yulieski and Burrows twice in one season seems to have aged him a little).

Daily Salopian - The Sonics are very pleased to announce the signing of two exciting young plyers from Fort Worth Stampede. Firstly, SS Tepin has been brough in in an attempt to meet the threat of the outside run that the Cyclones may now have with the signing of RB Kearney. Secondly, the explosive young DE Poltorov has come in whilst the ageing DE Munster is leaving the franchise. Coach Hose said that although Munster was a top pass rush DE he has probably had is best games. DE Munster proved the coach wrong by acieving a career high 4 sacks in the wildcard game against the Snow Bears. Questioned further on the high profile players that the Cyclones have brought in Coach Hose commented that, 'It add to the sense of excitement to the MFC East next season, with 3 of the league's top RBs involved. But the challenge of the Cyclone's will probably only last for season 10 after that they'll all be too old.

It is rumoured that when asked by his players what the gameplan was, for the upcoming game he replied, 'What's important is that twice to is four and all the rest's nonsense.' The players received this declaration with a mixture of zenlike enlightenment and anxious trepidation.

Poor, poor, Scott - We all had a good chuckle today at the rantings of Blues HC Scott. He asked, 'What relavence the 'cat' on the helmet had to do with Sonics?', and to a certain extent he was right the 'cat' has nothing to do with Sonics. Let us enlighten him - the 'cat' is a loggerhead from the coat of arms of Salop (hence Salopian). We were all assuming that it was coach Scott himself who was teaching Yulieski to read and write - obviously we were very much mistaken.

Darwin puts halt on survival - Sonics DT Darwin told reporters today that the survival of Blues RB Yulieski was very much in doubt this season. Down with the Jedi - Coach Hose of the Sonics found himself in agreement with the Head Coach of MFC East rivals the Cyclones today. As Coach Speakman was giving his interview about the 'regrets' he has about the trade with the Havana Blues, Coach Hose was heard to mutter something under his breath about the illegitimate use of the Blues' Head Coach Jedi powers.

Sonics' Defensive Ends Wormius and Munster said, today, that they were pleased that Havana Snooze QB Cooper had boasted about the number of TDs he was going to score through the air against the Sonics this week as his words would only serve to increase their pleasure when they grind his face into the dirt at the upcoming game. HC Hose was seen to jump up from his chair and scream 'Right on!' at his DEs comments.

The Sonics were sad to see the departure of the ageing DT Anton Zarnak today who has played all 20 regular season games for the them. But his days were numbered with the signing of the first round draft pick Darwin. Along with the young but uninspiring DT Peterson and a S9 draft pick, Zarnak was traded for the young and impressive TE Rocky Stone, adding some umph on the OL for Pickman to run behind next season.
