So, a great win at home on the final game of the season enables the Nighthawks to match the coaches predicted record of 6-4, and achieve their first winning season since S6.Coach Haggis has named Prince Faramia as MVP but HB Del Marino also achived his best ever rushing totals for a season.'This just shows how much the offensive line has inproved as a unit and this augers well for next season' said the Coach. 'I'm also pleased with the progress that Gibson has made in his first season. He has trained well and managed to start in a lot of games this year. The playing time he has had is going to pay dividends next season and I expect to see a much inproved passing attack taking the field.''On the other side of the ball its been an average season, with Cromer being our defensive MVP.He has been a rock at the heart of our defense all year. However, we need to improve our pass rush and outside run if we want to challenge for play offs next season.'

Strong rumours coming out of Nighthawks HQ that rookie QB Gibson will start this weeks game vs the Comets. Apparently, the rookie has been making a great showing in training so far this season and will be given a run out in the team earlier than expected. It is hoped that Coach Haggis's decision to play such an inexperienced QB at starter does not come back to haunt him.

FARAMIA -I'M NO BUST - Nighthawks FB Prince Faramia provided the perfect response to critics by turning in a career best 330 yards on 35 carries and 3 TD this week against the Razorbacks. 'When I was drafted in S7 I accept that there were high expectations of me but I don't feel that I ever fitted into the offensive set up at the Magpies. I'm glad to be on a team that plays to my strengths and I can now start to show what I can really do.'

HAGGIS DEFENDS KICKER - Coach Haggis labelled the criticism of rookie kicker Sam Beckett as 'unfair' following the 10-7 defeat on the road to the Snowbears in week 1 of the season.'Sam missed from 47 amd 53 yards in a hostile atmosphere. He's disappointed that he could not take those chances to win the game for use but I'm not blaming him for this defeat - we were just beaten by the better team on the day. Hell, if we still had Coutou as our kicker I would not even have attempted those field goals.' Fans hope that the coaches words will give Beckett a lift ahead of this weeks clash against the Razorbacks.

The rookie kicker was secured in a trade with The Warriors for a S11 draft pick.Brandon Coutou, the Royston incumbent, has been cut.Coach Haggis stated 'We are delighted with this signing. We lost several close games last season because of our inabilty to convert possession into points when in the red zone.
